Our Story

Our family’s rug legacy began in 1908 in the bazaars of Iran, where our grandfather built the foundation of what would become a generations-long family business. That legacy was carried forward by our father, & uncles, who helped build a globally respected name in the rug industry.

For decades, our father became a major presence in the wholesale rug world, traveling extensively and working directly with retailers, interior designers, hospitality groups, and industry partners around the world. We grew up immersed in that world watching him source exceptional materials, develop collections, build lasting relationships, and work closely with skilled artisans who have dedicated their lives to the craft.

Today, as the third-generation women of our family, we’re stepping in alongside our husbands to lead the next chapter of AZAD Design. While our roots remain deeply connected to wholesale and the relationships our father built over decades, we are expanding that legacy through a more hands-on approach with interior designers, architects, hospitality projects, and private clients.

From one-of-a-kind pieces to fully custom rugs, we work closely with our clients from concept to completion; bringing together design, craftsmanship, quality, and generations of knowledge.

AZAD Design is a continuation of what we were raised around, seen through a new generation’s eyes. We’re honoring the foundation our family built while creating something of our own - one rug, one space, and one relationship at a time.
