Our family Legacy
Our family’s rug legacy began in 1908, by our grandfather in the bazaars of Iran, carried forward by our father, uncles, and cousins who built a globally respected name in the industry. We grew up immersed in that world - watching our dad travel, source exceptional materials, and work closely with artisans across the globe who dedicated their lives to the craft.
Today, as the third-generation women of our family, we’re stepping in, alongside our husbands, to lead a new chapter for AZAD - continuing what we were raised around, seeing it through our own eyes, with the same passion and purpose that started it all.
Supplying retailers around the world
For decades, we supplied handcrafted rugs to retailers around the world from our Beverly Hills showroom. As the industry evolved, so did we, shifting our focus from wholesale distribution to partnering directly with interior designers, architects, hospitality, and homeowners to create thoughtful, custom spaces.
Building relationships around the world
Rather than relying on distributors, our father traveled the world to meet directly with weavers, manufacturers, and suppliers. Those relationships became the foundation of AZAD Design, giving us access to exceptional craftsmanship and one-of-a-kind rugs for generations.
building a legacy in the US
Inspired by his father and brothers, who built a respected rug business throughout Europe and the Middle East, our father set out to establish that same legacy in the United States. Traveling to China and other renowned weaving regions, he personally sourced handcrafted rugs, developed trusted supplier relationships, and expanded the family legacy to the US

Every story has a beginning. Ours started in 1908 with our grandfather, whose passion for handcrafted rugs laid the foundation for what is now AZAD Design. More than a century later, we're proud to continue his legacy—honoring traditional craftsmanship while bringing timeless designs into homes around the world.
